What is the Patrick Graham Charitable Foundation?
After Patrick Graham passed away from a drug overdose, the Graham Family, established the Patrick Graham Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Foundation is guided by a simple principle: No one should suffer from a drug addiction alone or feel shame associated with the disease. We support non-profit foundations that are doing work to assist those suffering from addiction.
Focus Area
Hope House
We have spent some time over the last few months getting to know the team at Hope House Addiction Services. Hope House is a 6 to 9-month, 95-bed treatment program for men suffering from substance use disorder. Hope House is located at 8 Farnham Street in Boston. Throughout a client’s stay, they will receive education and support allowing them to pursue their life interests with families, employers, and be self-sufficient members of their communities. About 90% of Hope House clients are homeless upon admission. You can learn more about Hope House here.
This is going to be a two part project funded by all of your generous donations:
1. Welcome Backpacks For All New Residents:
Each year about 300 new residents coming into the Hope House. The Patrick Graham Foundation will be donating backpacks that each new resident will receive on their first day. In each backpack will be everyday essentials that support proper hygiene, recovery and self-care.
2. Monthly Dinner to Celebrate Commencement
Once a month there is a dinner at the Hope House to celebrate those graduating onto the next phase. The Patrick Graham Foundation has committed to donating the meal for the next 16 months. There are about 125 residents, staff and guests at the dinner each month. We have heard from many of you that you want to continue to be involved in a more tangible way and this is the perfect opportunity. We need volunteers to be there to greet the food delivery, set up the dinner in the cafeteria and serve it to the house residents. There will be plenty of opportunity to meet the residents and hear their stories and learn more about the impact addiction has had on their life and their journey in recovery.
